How to block the installation of USB devices by using Group Policies?
Arlindo Alves
writes " Today I was working at a booth on a Partner Event. I was explaining how we can block the installation of USB devices by using Group Policies. I also showed how we can change the default message a user gets when he try to install such a device. I talked about the fact that we can allow the installation of specific devices like mouse and keyboards. Now one of the customers had a question about can I allow only this specific USB Memory stick. I never thought about it before. So I wanted to find out if you can do that. So I have two identical memory sticks "USB Mini Cruzers" and I want to be able to use one of them and block the other. Doug Burgum's "Wisdom of Crowds"
Soni
writes "
In his keynote Doug did an awesome job of explaining how we as a company are embracing community and really focusing on making the atmosphere of Convergence available to customers 365 days a year online. He referenced some great points from the Wisdom of the Crowds book. One was particularily interesting. We all know about the Who Wants to be a Millionaire show. A study was done on the accuracy of different lifelines...specific call a friend/expert and ask the audience. When the person called their "expert" they were right 61% of the time. When they asked the audience -- a larger more diverse crowd -- they were right 91% of the time. Very effective, simple example of "wisdom of crowds." "
