The Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver is a USB receiver, modeled in the style of the receivers many already have for keyboards and mice, that let's you use your existing Xbox Wireless stuff like the controller and driving wheel with existing games. I've always been a little underwhelmed with Joystick support in Windows, but DirectX 10 (only took 10 tries) tries to rectify that. Scott Hanselman writes " I'm downloading Vista off of MSDN right now at a speedy 2 megs a second....I think I will: Remove all things Office 2007 Beta 2 TR from my current Vista RC2 installation; Upgrade to Vista RTM; Upgrade to the Beta ATI Drivers for Vista RTM (Catalyst 8.31.100); Install Office 2007 Professional. I'll skip the other apps like InfoPath, OneNote, and Visio, until I hear that they've got this whole product key thing fixed. Right now, even though a product key is supposed to allow 10 activations (and really should be 10 PCs) it only allows one application."

The secret sauce for installing Office Professional 2007

Sanjay Shetty writes " While installing the new office 2007 bits, it started off with having an issue with beta bits of the Compatibility pack for Microsoft Office 2007 File formats. After uninstalling the same, I though life was back on track again and next it had an issue with ActiveSync. This was a real strange one, I could shut activesync and retry or continue and have my system reboot post the setup... The funny thing is you can't shut activesync down straight away... so all I did was open and then minimize it and hit retry again. Guess what the installation proceeded...he most important addition is the To-Do Bar... just amazing. Besides showing whats next on your calendar it also shows you your to-do items from your tasks as well as from emails which you may have marked for follow-up. I just love the To-Do Bar it's just plain awesome..."

TechEd Barcelona - The last three days

Jonas Folleso writes " As you can imagine after reading the posts TechEd this year was really busy for us.You can cram all the great content into one DVD, but you can't capture the true atmosphere and all the people you meet at TechEd into one DVD. You'll have to be there your self....Wednesday evening was all about the infamous, annual Norwegian TechEd party at the Hard Rock Cafe. More than 200 Norwegian delegates where attending TechEd this year, and the Norwegian party is know for being the best TechEd party, so quite a few speakers dropped by as well. As you can imagine, the place was quite crowded and the atmosphere was great!"

It is around April end 2007 in Las Vegas and as of now I am planning to attend it. I was there in last year....The event had good technologies talked like Atlas, AJAX, Mash-ups, WPF & MOSS 2007. For a relief, the event was not Microsoft only affair. It had good participation from other new age web companies like Yahoo & Amazon. This gave the event a good breadth of topics and speakers. I also liked the format and restriction to few hundred partipants."

The invisible system icon

And I use the system icon in the upper left quite a lot, mostly to close things, and especially when the window is off the screen a bit so the X isn't available. In Vista, it looks like that icon/button is gone, but it isn't. Just click where it should be....Double-click to close the window, or do any of the things you would otherwise do on that menu. Isn't that cool?"
