Solomon Vendors to CRM Customer Entites - What is a Vendomer?
If we look right at the vendor table in Solomon we are able to extract out of SL all of the vendors. Some of our customers are now integrating vendors with CRM. This is a great way to give staff access to the current vendors. This helps with keeping the buyers and product managers in CRM. It allows them to then manage a single string of conversation with sales people calling in to their company.
We have also found in some companies that customers can also be a vendor. Some folks in distribution will purchase some products and sell others to the same customer/vendor. We have coined a phrase for this: VENDOMER. In Solomon what you would do is use the CustomerID as the vendor ID when you create the Vendor. With that in mind you can then conditionally format the Account type field in CRM to choose Vendomer.
A custom entity might also be a good call here. CRM allows you to create a custom entity. Our Vendor DTS could then point right at that object.
