Pre-Convergence 2006 and Travel
I spent most of the day traveling from Seattle to Dallas. Even with a direct flight, I spent from 7 AM to 6:15 PM on plane, shuttles and lounges. I started the morning with Seattle rush hour traffic and ended day with same in Dallas. Seattlites might take some small solace that Dallas appears to have worse traffic problems than home.
Two people on the way to the conference were majorly stressed out because their computers were out of power and part of their travel and hotel arrangements were unavailable. One fellow couldn't find his hotel. He knew it was Marriot but the one Marriot out of many that he showed up at didn't have his reservations. This dude was majorly stressed out. Another fellow was trying to pull up his spiel for a speaking engagement and again, his laptop battery was dead. He was very happy when I pointed out a power port in the airport. Guess what? They are everywhere now. It didn't used to be that way.
The ISP Chat started at 7 PM tonight. There was a nice spread and it was standing room only with lots of partners and Microsofties smoozing. I saw most of the tables excpt for Blue Moon Industries. They are value-add ISVs for Microsoft GP solutions and they have been around since 1994.
I'm off to find a shuttle back to the hotel. I want to see what my fellow bloggers are saying about the party so far. Ciao
